Dr. Brown,

I have a question, what message of yours was it when you said something similar to the following:(Very Bad Paraphrase please forgive my poor memory)

If humanity's problem was boredom God would have sent an entertainer, if our problem was government He would have sent a politician, If it was medical he would have sent a doctor....but because our problem was sin He sent a Savior.

If you remember the exact quote could you post it here and the message. I don't remember if that was you or you were quoting someone else, but that is a really great quote.

thanks,

Daniel

Thanks that was a great answer! It actually was my question, I thought that no one checked your email because I never received an answer. I greatly appreciate you clarifying that for me. I agree it doesn't sound heretical like some of the things that are coming across the air waves in modern times. I am going to try to listen to more of the shows, I really wish that we had a station here in Louisiana that could broadcast your show.

peace,

Daniel

Cajun,

I actually addressed this question about Finney on this show, towards the end, so please listen to that segment for greater clarification.

Dr. Brown,

I recently read on the web that Charles Finney didn't believe in substitutionary atonement. I was disappointed to read that because out of all of the heros of the faith that you and other men of God write about, Finney inspires me the most. Please tell me that this is not true. Is this some kind of lie being spread to discredit Finney? I also heard that he greatly exaggerated stories of revival, what do you know of these hopefully false claims concerning Finney? Please help me clear this up.

thanks,

Daniel

I have a question to Dr. Michael Brown from my mother in Germany about marriage and homosexuality.

In 1. Cor. 7:4 it is stated:
"The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife."
But how should a marriage work when the husband is bisexual. (Goes to an homosexual club).
He is a scientist and atheist. The wife is a new-born spirit-filled christian.
They have a six-year-old son.
Both are about 35 years old. They love and respect each other a lot so a divorce is unthinkable.
The husband wants to live with his wife and the wife mentions:
1. Cor. 7,10;13:
"To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband;
And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him."
A divorce is unthinkable!
Husband and wife suffer a lot. The husband is silent, he is very ashamed of this before his wife (" I am not a homosexual.")
But there are witnesses. He is bisexual.

How should such a marriage work?

Dr. Brown,

One more question, didn't know where else to ask this, but here goes. I wanted clarification because I heard this from a Scholar and just wanted clarification/your perspective since you have studied the ancient language and would be more exposed to deeper meanings.

He said that the story of Abraham and Isaac was one to illustrate/help differ from the caananite style of worship (and surrounding practices including the egyptians) in that it showed how the "hebrew" culture's GOD did not allow for human sacrifices. It was also a story to illustrate devotion to GOD.

How then can Yeshua be a human sacrifice?
