That was a great show. I have a question regarding Howard.

Dr. Brown, did Howard ever have contact again with the people who witnessed to him? Do you know if they know of the fruit of their faithfulness? Or will they learn of this at the end of time?

Thanks a lot; it was an inspiring show. Just listening to how the Spirit moved in Howard’s life and then listening to the beauty of Scripture in OT and NT with the feasts, etc. It was so edifying.

I am very encouraged. What a faith building and challenging show. I was challenged to walk so in tune with the Spirit that my words be Spirit led and I be sensitive to the Spirit. It was a great reminder of how little academics matter when compared to the power and presence of God. I am not saying academics do not matter. :)

I am so glad that you and Howard brought up the issue of identity… that believers have identity in Messiah Jesus, not in a culture, or organization, etc. I am a member of a Messianic Jewish congregation and I see this identity issue becoming warped from time to time. As folks come to understand the Jewish roots of their faith, and, like Howard described, Jesus is opened up to them in new ways, some become caught up emotionally and fall into error. Some even feel compelled to take on customs that did not exist until centuries after the death and resurrection of Messiah. They forget all the wonderful words Paul shares with us concerning this very topic. One of the goals of many Messianic congregations is to “return” to a 1st century paradigm. In many ways this is good, but can lead one to revisit the same problems that the early church encountered. I think the Messianic movement continually deals with this subject of identity and how it leads their worship of and service to God. Thank you both for acting in the role of Paul, instructing rightly to keep the body from error.

thank you dez, I have been saying this for a while in some other blogs; you become closer to someone when you find out more about them as a person, instead of just knowing teh surface, his name and his deeds.
