Hi Dr.Brown let me start by saying I truly love your show , and am a regular call in better known to you as Ricky from Greensboro. It is high time that a show such as Line of Fire be available on the radio. I believe the recession is truly a wakeup call for not only America but to the world . If there is one way to get someones attention mess with their money. America is the wealthiest country in the world and wealth has become the foremost important thing in life its not until we see how fragile and uncertain wealth is , is when we can began to realize there must be something greater that we can really on , and that something is our faith and trust in Jesus Christ . He is always reliable , faithful , dependable, and he never changes. we have to go back to faith first , then family and everything else will be in order.

Do Atheists really exist?
If they do, God doesn’t believe in them….

Oh no, not the “banana” thing again! Why, Ray Comfort, why?

I love the reasoning behind the atheist test… I use to give it out to so many people.
The banana thing is probably the most unscientific scientific proof. Genius.

I believe historically recession is a correction for man’s greed and need to satisfy an unchecked quest toward materialism.
Ecc. 7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider; Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, so that man can find out nothing that will come after him.
I think that scripture makes it clear that we are in a place where God is helping expose moral and ethical failure in an effort to be redemptive.
I am excited to know through recession God is in control!

I believe there is much we can do to let our CHRISTIAN LIGHT SHINE. As we all know the world is hurting economically, therefore, our fields are ripe with harvest because more than ever people are listening. As the body of Christ we must stand up for morality. We must use every channel of government and media to voice our CHRISTIAN WORLD VIEW. We must keep our government accountable by getting involved in our government’s affairs beginning at the local level. Many in the body of Christ do not know who their government officials are. They don’t know their mayor or congressman. If we are to expand God’s kingdom we must be expand our influence. The word of God tells us there is no such thing as separation of church and state. We are ordered by Christ to preach the Gospel to every creature. We can not compromise our beliefs but instead we must speak boldly in the marketplace and in our circles of influence. It is our duty to fight for the constitutional freedoms our forefathers fought so hard to achieve. If we can take action then God would heal our land and WE THE PEOPLE would eventually oust the corruption within our government.

John Piper had a great sermon on God’s reasoning behind the recession. Its really good. I’d encourage any interested bro’s in Christ and sisters too, to check it out at desiringgod.org
As Gary said, its about exposing our wickedness and a call to find our delight in Him and not money and things, to have our confidence in Him and not in the strength of the economy. To remember those who always live in an economic environment that is much worse. We grumble over little whilst they praise God in the little they have.
May God’s will be done in all things.
