I’ve known the manager of the local CVS pharmacy for about 30 years, but he was not in today. I will talk to him soon.
I was picking up a prescription (lack of faith) today and there it was- prominently displayed at the prescription checkout. Even though you had talked about this yesterday, I wasn’t really prepared. Not a lust thihg, but I actually dropped my keys when I saw it. What a jolt!
I guess they put it back there to keep the kids from browsing, so they must have an idea that its nasty.

The store managers are missing the BIGGER picture when refusing to alter their SI Swimsuit(or other non family value) stance. Call it the penny-wise, pound foolish thinking.
SI swimsuit buyers are opportunistic buyers — they buy on impulse in the store they are at. They will hold no more love for the store if they buy it there. Perhaps the store sells 100 magazines per month at $5 a hit. That’s $500 revenue dollars with maybe a profit of $200.
By refusing a request of either pulling the issue or placing in a different location (not at kid level and at check out), you are probably going to have the family boycott the store. A family is not an opportunistic buyer but a repeat buyer. They will drop $250 per year, easy, on the groceries.
If they instead were to say I will change the policy immediately, that family will become a loyal buyer and recommend the store to everyone they meet. That will generate LOTS of income.
It is foolish business to refuse potential loyal customer base in order to serve a transient customer base for only 1 -2 months.

My comment is about the transgender day at the middle school . This confirms the statement that we both made Dr. Brown about not putting your faith in government and obviously the school system either. We know this world is getting worse and the acts of evil are more out in the open because they are more socially accepted by the world and compromising churches. Only when the church stand up and be the church can we only begin to deal with immorality or sin , I know that the modern lukeworm churches are now including sinful acts as acts of morality but the true believers still call sin sin and we preach and teach against it . I hope parents stand up and be parents about this issue of a third sex what a crocpot of crapolla. If this would have happened in one of my child’s school I would ‘ve had to pray “a lot before I went out there”. I ask you this question my brother when is enough , enough , when will the people of this world understand that the homosexual agenda can never be satisfied they will always want more and more because that void in their life that they’re trying to fill with rebellion and controversy can only be filled by Jesus Christ.

Yes, when is enough enough? I would have thought that we would have reached “enough” a long time ago already. How a wake up call is still needed!

Some people out of pardonable ignorance confuse medical with moral issues.
200 years ago, children with cleft palates were deemed to be marked by Satan. We know better now, at least, about that.
See, for example , the following articles. I chose them because they’re all available online for you to check:
Male-to-female transsexuals show sex-atypical hypothalamus activation when smelling odorous steroids. by Berglund et al Cerebral Cortex 2008 18(8):1900-1908;
…the data implicate that transsexuality may be associated with sex-atypical physiological responses in specific hypothalamic circuits, possibly as a consequence of a variant neuronal differentiation.
Male–to–female transsexuals have female neuron numbers in a limbic nucleus. Kruiver et al J Clin Endocrinol Metab (2000) 85:2034–2041
The present findings of somatostatin neuronal sex differences in the BSTc and its sex reversal in the transsexual brain clearly support the paradigm that in transsexuals sexual differentiation of the brain and genitals may go into opposite directions and point to a neurobiological basis of gender identity disorder.
Sexual differentiation of the human brain: relevance for gender identity, transsexualism and sexual orientation. Swaab Gynecol Endocrinol (2004) 19:301–312.
Solid evidence for the importance of postnatal social factors is lacking. In the human brain, structural diferences have been described that seem to be related to gender identity and sexual orientation.
A sex difference in the human brain and its relation to transsexuality. by Zhou et al Nature (1995) 378:68–70.
Our study is the first to show a female brain structure in genetically male transsexuals and supports the hypothesis that gender identity develops as a result of an interaction between the developing brain and sex hormones
A sex difference in the hypothalamic uncinate nucleus: relationship to gender identity. by Garcia-Falgueras et al Brain. 2008 Dec;131(Pt 12):3132-46.
We propose that the sex reversal of the INAH3 in transsexual people is at least partly a marker of an early atypical sexual differentiation of the brain and that the changes in INAH3 and the BSTc may belong to a complex network that may structurally and functionally be related to gender identity.
In plain English, transsexuality is as much an Intersex condition as CAIS, CAH, 5ARD, 17BHDD, Kleinfelter Syndrome, Swyer Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, Mixed Gonadal Dysgenesis, etc. A body neither 100% male nor 100% female.
Radiologists looking at the MRI images have described it as “man trapped in a woman’s body” or the reverse.
They show exactly the same symptoms as those with 5ARD,17BHDD, or IPSR (all of who change apparent sex naturally) do before their change.

Zoe,
As the scriptures say “As a man thinks so is he..” if a man or woman think they are the sex they have made themselves believe they are….they will act on it. Their physiology will respond to that. Our body is not to rule on us, we are to walk in the Spirit so as not to fulfill the lusts of the flesh. And those feelings and anxieties that people who struggling with homosexual issues are lusts of the flesh, they are to be fought by the one who is being tempted. Demonic spirits fire fiery darts at us through various lusts and thoughts, we fight using the weapons gave us…..physiological data is not proof that the things God has forbidden are part of human nature and are to be accepted as such. If any thing it proves that those who suffer such have real problems that need to be dealt with, these problems are deeply rooted in the spiritual and need to be dealt with through spiritual means first so that the physical body responds to the change within, if a man stops thinking he is a woman. Surely this internal reflection will manifest itself outwardly also.

Zoe B.,
Thanks so much for the detailed post. I trust you’re aware of a host of scholarly studies that indicate that, to date, no definitive connection between sexuality and genes and biology has yet to be found, which is why even the ultra-liberal APA has stated, “Some people believe that sexual orientation is innate and fixed; however, sexual orientation develops across a person’s lifetime… to date there are no replicated scientific studies supporting any specific biological etiology for homosexuality.” (From the 2000 American Psychiatric Association Fact Sheet on Sexual Orientation)
If you have not carefully evaluated the data on the website of Dr. Neil Whitehead, http://www.mygenes.co.nz/, I would strongly encourage you to do so.
And for those reading this blog who do not have the ability to analyze the scientific data for themselves, a comment from the editor of a gay newspaper will suffice: “Someday, science will discover the biological or genetic root of homosexuality and finally put to rest the absurd notion that sexual orientation is a choice.” (Kevin Naff, Washington Blade, 2005) In other words, even a gay activist like Naff understands that, to date, no biological or genetic root of homosexuality has been found.
There is also the very real testimony of formerly gay and lesbian and transgender people who are not what they used to be through the power of the gospel — and some of their lives have withstood longitudinal scientific analysis.
Both the testimony of Scripture and science and experience remind us that no is born gay, and even those with a genetic or biological predisposition to homosexuality can be changed.

Thanks so much for the comments, I’m just sorry I didn’t make myself clearer.
None of the above has anything whatsoever to do with homosexuality.
Many people with transsexuality are asexual – about 25% live completely celibate lifestyles after treatment, even though having the correct hormonal mix for their neurology may give them a libido for the first time in their lives.
If you look at the documents that are relevant, such as “is transsexuality biological” on the mygenes site, you’ll see the conclusions predate all but one of the papers I quoted. It was reasonable to argue back in 2000 that there wasn’t enough evidence. Now, with rather more evidence, it’s not. Furthermore, the author misunderstands: it’s not the somewhat plastic (changeable through life experience) part of the cerebral cortex that’s involved, it’s the lymbic nucleus, the “reptile brain” which is essentially hard-wired. We can now see the differences using fMRI imaging. Men – including gay men – have one pattern, women – including lesbians – another. And Transwomen fall into the female category.
The APA will have a symposium reviewing the evidence “S10. The Neurobiological Evidence for Transgenderism” at its annual conference. The list of research papers and experiments all saying the same thing is 8 pages long, over 300 works rather than one. Not a single experiment has given contradictory data.
There is considerable opposition to this from liberal groups who see Gender as a Social Construct, rather than innate, but the data is unimpeachable.
One must be careful to distinguish transsexuality from other conditions that may superficially resemble them, such as fetishistic transvestitism, which have no evidence for a neurobiological basis. Those are relatively easily distinguished though, the resemblance isn’t that strong. Such conditions may indeed benefit from religious or psychological counselling.

Zoe B.,
Thanks for your further post. I’ll review the information supplied carefully ASAP, and respond accordingly.
I also visited your blog, which gave me further insight into your own positions.
Again, thanks for your interaction here.

Thanks so much, Dr B, and I owe you an apology.
I confess I came to this site with some prejudice – meaning I had pre-judged it (and incorrectly as it turned out).
But my pre-conceived misapprehensions were soon dispelled. I was impressed with the Charity shown in your program. I’m sorry, I’m not accustomed to that – people who claim to be Christian being the genuine article. That came through though quite clearly in your program of February 25th.
We may differ now on some aspects, and disagree on the facts. That though is less important than the ideals expressed in 1 Corinthians 13.
For why I came in with such uncharitable prejudice (for which I ask your forgiveness – you may not have known it, but I did), please see http://aebrain.blogspot.com/2009/02/blessings-contrasts-and-christianity.html
Some more posts that may give you an insight into my other prejudices and errors – as well as a gauge of my faltering fumblings for truth:
http://aebrain.blogspot.com/2009/02/evidence.html
I’ve adduced some of the evidence in a previous comment, but there’s more. Also evidence of my own human failings!
http://aebrain.blogspot.com/2008/06/bigender-and-brain.html
This starts out with all the evidence accumulated so far of a biological cause for homosexuality. I believe it is so caused, but the evidence is too weak for it to be more than “well I *think* it is”.
Please read the whole thing, and follow the links – it attempts to account for all observed evidence, that some people may be BiGendered.
For an insight into my own personal story:
http://aebrain.blogspot.com/2009/01/executive-summary.html and the URL it refers to.
There’s a lot too this, and many aspects too. Medical, legal, social, theological. And to think, 4 years ago, I knew none of it.
God Bless,
Zoe

Dr. Brown;
Didn’t know where else to put this so I’m dropping it in here. I recently saw your debate from last year “A Christian response to homosexuality”. Thanks for making it available. Harry Knox seems to be quite a nice fellow, but if his arguments are the best that the HRC can muster, then from a Biblical standpoint they’re toast. You soundly defeated him on scriptural grounds so then he changed tactics to an appeal to personal experience. He apparently believes the Holy Spirit has given his beliefs a stamp of approval. This is why it is always dangerous to appeal to personal experience rather than propositional revelation. Those who appeal to personal experience never answer why their experience should be used as the measure of truth, rather than someone elses experience that is contradictory. Experience always needs be judged in light of the Bible; the Bible is never to be judged in light of our experience.
