On your brief comments regarding a literal, 6-day creation account and the age of the earth:

If the days of creation represent millions of years (Day-Age Theory), how do we reconcille Moses’ time specific words (ie “day”, “So the evening and the morning were the second day…”)?

Furthermore, if the days represent ages, then Moses was wrong in the order of creation.  The sun was created on day 4, but vegitation was created on day 3.

One last point.  The possibility for millions of years (via Gap and Day-Age theory) must include the presence of death before the Fall.  Plants and animals would have been living and dying for years before the Fall.  The Bible teaches that death came as a result of the Fall.  A SIDE NOTE: we have fossil records of millions of year-old animals with other animals in their stomachs.  Yet, the Bible seems to indicate that animals and humans were vegitarian until after the Flood (see Gen 9:3).
