I just finished listening to this broadcast episode.  I found the following points interesting.  1) The idea that Democrats took the place of Republicans in doing the most for Blacks.   2) Specific events where this took place may have arisen out of the Roosevelt era.  Not only Blacks but Whites felt Roosevelt (a Democrat)was for the common man.

Perhaps what may be most important is that perception that Democrats care more.    If the civil rights era progress gets attributed to the Democratic Party remember President Johnson was a Democrat.    If you look at a more recent issue like Affirmative Action, then there is more support for that remedy from Democrats than Republicans.  Republicans by and large disregard Blacks in campaigns. While I am aware of no study on the number of Republican candidates campaigning in Black churches, I bet the evidence would show it is only a tiny percentage, while Democrats campaign in Black churches on a regular basis.  If you look at talk radio, which generally supports the Republican party, most of the issues simply disregard the issue of recruiting Blacks to join the Republican party.  Or, put in another context, I see little from someone like Rush Limbaugh or a Michael Savage which woos a Black audience.  Moreover, I do not see this likely to change. The election cycle deals with immediacy.  Any candidate who goes into a district as a Republican would not put all their resources into a district with say a 70 or 80 percent Democratic voting record. The strategy is that you firm up your base and then concentrate on those districts which are close and see if you can steel a few votes from your opponent.   Demographically speaking, that means virtually no dollars go to those areas where there is a high concentration of Blacks if you are a Republican because it is not likely to translate into meaningful votes.

      Doug,

Thanks for the comments! I’d be interested to hear how Republican strategists would respond.

      Dr Brown,
On a Great Commision context, I just finished listening to Hazakim’s Theophanies album. The parts with you doing some exposition on Scripture specifically the pre-existence of God the Son are really good! God bless you sir.

      God Bless

On the subject of anti-christs. Scripture teaches that there are anti-christ’s. That is those who leave the church but really weren’t part of it to begin with and those who claim that Jesus did not become flesh; that is That God the Son did not take on a human nature. Scripture also does speak of a litteral Enemy of God and His Christ and God’s people. Paul calls this person the son of perdition and also some scripts say the man of sin. John clearly says that “Anti-Christ is coming..” And Revelation and Daniel also speak of this individual though in a more complex fashion.
