We can’t have it both ways. I personally object to laws that forbid a Christian landlord to reject as tenants an unmarried couple in thier basement apartment, for instance. I think a landlord should be able to do as he pleases with his property. So while I disagree with the owner of Concord Mills, I would defend his right to rent to whom he pleases.
OTOH, in some areas of the country, large shopping centers have been built with assistance by municipalties – property tax breaks for a certain number of years, or even the aquisition of land through eminent domain (See John Stossel link below). If this is the case with Concord Mills, then I think the expectation should be that the landlord not exercsie his perogatives in this case.
