These couple of shows were great. I appreciated hearing them. But I must issue a caution re something Frank said in the second hour regarding the ‘Big Bang’. To be sure, BB cosmology postulates a beginning to the universe, and a beginning requires a cause, and that cause could be God, but that’s about as much comfort as Christians can draw from the secular BB theory. The problem is that the BB postulates more than just that the universe had a beginning. It also encompasses theories on the evolution of galaxies, stars and planets. And this is where it becomes problematic for Bible believers. According to the BB, the order, method and timeline of the creation of Earth, Sun, moon and stars totally contradicts the Biblical account.

So Christians need to be careful here and qualify our statements regarding appealing to the BB for evidence for the existence of God. Certainly it is the case that observations of the universe do point to the fact that it had a beginning, but this should not lead to the assumption that the BB theory must therefore be true as there are alternative cosmological models also based on an expanding universe which do not contradict Scripture. See this page for further information.
