Two Christian ministries in particular have influenced my Christian walk, firstly, Answers in Genesis (now Creation Ministries International), and secondly, ICN Ministries headed up by some bloke called Brown I think! Actually it was the Brownsville revival that first got me on to Dr. Brown’s ministry.

Ministries of influence: 1)The direct ministry of a so-called Jesus Person in the 1970s who spoke of the restoration of Israel, as being completed step by step through Tenach prophecy, along with Yeshua being the sent Messiah, 2) The Ruach Ha Kosesh, who helped clarify the written word, and the often confusing teaching and claims of early Charismatic teachers, 3) Some Australian Messianic ministry literature stemming from the late 1970s, early 1980s, which interpreted most of the Tenach through the hindsight of Yeshua having been appointed as the Redemptive intention and plan of God, 4) Various translations of scripture, and various interpretations of translation therein, 5) Bible Dictionaries in general, as a succint source for answers to inevitable ongoing questions, later various commentaries, then ponies, or interlinear translations showing original language and possible meanings, 6) contemplative literature of the faith, as of the early disciples, various so-called mystics (with caution), then specifically Dallas Willard type material,7) and this is the latest impact, observing Ecclesia wherever and whenever possible: where my own limited notions of community, the Mind of Christ, and my childhood family of origin experience did not line up. “You shall be enlarged in your distress,” and “edified in your connections in the Faith” might be the sum and substance of this latter instruction. It seems to me that most growth, even in the NT, is reflected through the working out of inevitable differences and conflicts within the community of Faith.

Ministries of influence: 1)The direct ministry of a so-called Jesus Person in the 1970s who spoke of the restoration of Israel, as being completed step by step through Tenach prophecy, along with Yeshua being the sent Messiah (and had signs following his own administration of the word in teaching, healing, and prophetic completions), 2) The Ruach Ha Kosesh, who helped clarify the written word, and the often confusing teaching and claims of early Charismatic teachers, 3) Some Australian Messianic ministry literature stemming from the late 1970s, early 1980s, which interpreted most of the Tenach through the hindsight of Yeshua having been appointed as the Redemptive intention and plan of God, which incorporated examination of Redemption with God’s sending of Yeshua to his people (those who would accept Him, be adopted by the Father as children of God, and those who would do his will), 4) Various translations of scripture, and various interpretations of translation passages therein, 5) Bible Dictionaries in general, as a succint source for answers to inevitable ongoing questions, later various scholarly commentaries, then ponies–or interlinear translations showing original language and possible meanings coming alive in the faithful, 6) contemplative literature of the faith, as of the early disciples, various so-called mystics (with caution), then specifically Dallas Willard type material, and, 7), this is the latest impact, observing Ecclesia wherever and whenever possible, with both Biblical and Psychological insight: where my own limited notions of community, the Mind of Christ, and my childhood family of origin experience did not line up with true community.

“You shall be enlarged in your distress,” and “edified in your connections in the Faith” might be the sum and substance of this latter instruction. We have examples throughout scripture of those called, being later chosen, while working out their own life history and its juxtaposition to God the Father. It seems to me that most growth, even in the NT, is reflected through the working out of inevitable differences and conflicts within the community of Faith after the initial conversion experience. People bring themselves with their faith into the Kingdom, and repent unto new life as that life is revealed in real life context.

I seem to run into this difficulty using this forum with posting early drafts of my responses inadvertently. The second posting above was the intention, and, I am somewhat unclear on how the first one even got posted prior to its edit.

Do most of you here commenting first write in a word processor, then paste in your responses? When I do that paragraph breaks get lost, so, I am still learning how all this works.

As a follow-up to my post above, another Christian ministry that has had a major impact on my thinking is Summit Ministries headed up by Dr. David Noebel. This ministry is dedicated to teaching a Christian worldview and much of the material could be traced back to the influence of people like Francis Schaeffer.
