Dr Brown,
there was outrage over Jenifer Lopez using the “N-word” in that particular song. African Americans were divided but the attention was not what she wanted so she basically apologized and said that she wouldnt use it. she was encouraged by another artist to use it as they i believe were black.
the reason i remember it is because it was a big thing in Hip Hop at the time. as well it delves into some deep seated issues in our (African American Community and the N-word). the whole who can use it, we shouldnt use it etc …
